Career Impressions: Executive Resume Writing’s Post

If you are trying to create great content for your resume -- tell a story. Address: Who, What, When, Where, How, and Why. Maybe in a past position, you were tasked with improving employee engagement... Instead of just listing this fact in your resume: “Improved employee engagement” - expand details to build a robust story of value: WHO was involved? Team of 4 cross-functional internal staff. WHAT was involved? Directed the team to create and implement a national employee incentive program. WHEN did this occur? 2019 as Operational Manager for Big Corp. in Seattle, WA. WHERE did this happen? In a national organization with 32,000 staff. HOW did it end? Built and implemented a new national employee training and incentive program in just 5 months, which increased engagement 65%. WHY does this matter? Share only what is relevant to the target reader. Now take all of these details and piece them together into a high-impact, value-enhanced statement for your resume. Maybe something like: ✔️ Increased employee engagement 65% by directing team of 4 to create and launch new training and incentive program, which was rolled out nationally to 32,000 staff in just 5 months. #jobsearch #resume #resumewriting #executiveresume
