It was a gorgeous sunny but not too humid day for the @Charlotte Logistics Connection's golf tournament. We reached our golfer limit plus a few more. The full house provided incredible networking for catch-up conversations and meeting several new individuals within the logistics community. ⛳ Thank you very much to Danny Roberts and all the sponsors for a phenomenal event!

Attended Dottie Rose Foundation's spring fundraiser of “24K to kick off 2024” raising funds to benefit tech-savvy girls in STEM for their 2024 programs including summer coding camps. In typical DRF fun style, teams played three rounds of trivia questions. There was friendly competition among the teams esp. in the music and sports rounds. I was part of the sharp CHARLOTTE IT PROFESSIONALS' team. 🎯 #girlsintech #stemeducation #supportingthedot

Attended the Charlotte ISACA's CPE event – AI and Cybersecurity with six engaging sessions presented by several Frazier & Deeter individuals in their respective specialties. A couple of my favorite topics presented were SOC for cybersecurity disclosures and the NACD’s (National Association of Corporate Directors) perspective for your Board of Directors when deploying generative AI. Really insightful information, great networking, happy hour, plus seven hours of CPE credits! Had the opportunity to attend SecureWorld Charlotte, which was an amazing conference! This year's theme was "Legacies Untold: Revealing Cybersecurity's Hidden Figures." Started the day with the LAKE NORMAN IT PROFESSIONALS and CHARLOTTE IT PROFESSIONALS' Security Leadership Peer Panel Breakfast moderated by James Kimble with four remarkable women -- Kimberly Trapani, Sherri Leach, Neda Pitt, and Misty Haynes who shared their incredible and candid journey in cybersecurity. The convention center was packed with the cybersecurity community (and is one of my favorites because it’s so well-attended). Throughout the day there were many insightful sessions and lots of great networking including visiting several Charlotte IT group booths. Ended the day with the LKNITP/CLTITP's fun after-hours party at Caroline’s Oyster House to “find the pearl.” Thanks to AccessIT Group and Island for sponsoring both fantastic events! #cybersecurity #cybersecuritylegacies #securityisateamsport

Implementing an internal control system can feel like working on a complex crossword puzzle - challenging yet rewarding. Similar to solving that crossword puzzle, understanding internal controls requires being a strategic thinker, perceptive/observant, and sometimes a little creative. Your thoughts can become your habits so try to be mindful of your thoughts. If you hit a bump in the road, try to reframe those thoughts into something constructive (e.g., a lesson learned). Plus try to surround yourself with positive influences like a quote/graphic or person because it’ll reinforce that positivity. I attended the launch of the Women+ in Technology of Charlotte last night. They have an extraordinary mission to create a community for women in tech to grow together as well as increase the number of women in tech through certification and education (such as their Girls in Tech program). There were 100+ women and men (allies) throughout the room so I thought the launch was a huge success. I'm thrilled that you are part of the Charlotte tech community and look forward to attending future events!
